A new company is today taking up the challenge of processing and distributing EPG television and radio metadata to digital media publications across the Baltic countries.
Viewers and listeners can look forward to up-to-date, detailed information about programmes through their regular on-line schedules, newspapers and magazines.
Publishers taking EPG and VOD services from the new provider will receive metadata sourced from broadcasters in an easy-to-use format, which is especially important for them and end user customers.
It means publishers will no longer have the expense and trouble of re-editing and re-formatting EPG and VOD metadata, because ‘media-press.tv Baltic’ does all the hard work.
The new business is a joint collaboration between media-press.tv A.G. (based in Zurich, Switzerland), Europe’s leading provider of TV and radio programme information, with EPGservice Baltic OÜ (based in Tallinn, Estonia) and Mediadata UAB (based in Vilnius, Lithuania).
All have agreed to merge activities in order to serve EPG markets in North- and Eastern Europe, through ‘media-press.tv Baltic’. With shared access to archived programme data, the deal means that consumers navigating TV programmes via their EPG options will find it easier to get more detailed and relevant content. All they need is for their supplier (Cable operator, pay TV platform, OTT carrier) to take data from the new company.
‘media-press.tv Baltic UAB’ is the leading provider of TV and movie metadata in the Baltics. Both cater for viewers and listeners across Northern and Eastern European countries by producing programme metadata on a daily basis.
Welcoming the deal, which was signed on 08.03.2017, President of media press Group Kris Cechnicki said:
“We are very pleased to welcome ‘media-press.tv Baltic UAB’ our corporate family and we are looking forward to working with our new partners to provide the best service to clients in the broadcast industry. Pan-European clients will soon benefit from our unparalleled offering of metadata, covering more than 3500 channels to the highest editorial standards, processed by our platform TV Man Next”.
